Free Orton Gillingham Printable Resources

This is a repository of printable flash cards, board games and more developed based on the Orton Gillingham (OG) method of teaching.

The OG method teaches dyslexic children literacy skills in an explicit, structured and systematic manner. In order for the skills taught to be cumulative, I have split instruction across stages and will be creating resources and will be uploading them in the coming months. I aim to develop a quality library of OG resources that is accessible to all parents to help train their own children.

What You'll Need

Printable files printed on A4 cardstock (cardstock preferred as the glare from lamination may be an issue for some children) or A4 copy paper (can be laminated if you prefer it)
A4 blank sticker label to print ‘activity label’ provided in the files to stick on storage container for easy filing and retrieval of boxes. You can also print on regular paper and use sticky tape to tape it on the box.
Container to store your activities. (I use A4 document storage boxes from Kmart or dollar stores)
Game pawns
Bingo chips
Dice
Zip lock bags to store bingo chips, game pawns, dice, etc.
Rubber bands to keep flash cards together

Stage 1

s, a, t, p, i, n

Start at stage 1. This stage covers the sounds /s/, / ă/, /t/, /p/, /ĭ/, /n/ . There are flash cards that you can use to explicitly teach sounds and printable games to further reinforce these sounds. Once the student is thorough with these sounds, proceed to stage 2.

Printing directions are included in each printable file.

Once the student is thorough with grapheme-phoneme (letter-sound) correspondences in both stage 1 and 2, proceed to stage 3.
